
Dr. Fedio served as Chief of Clinical Neuropsychology at the Neurology Institute of the National Institutes of Health, where he was one of the first neuropsychologists to be involved in operating room procedures to test cognitive functions during brain surgery. He published extensively, presented research findings internationally, and was awarded Fellow status in three professional organizations. Following his retirement from NIH, Dr. Fedio taught graduate coursework in neuropsychology at The Catholic University of America in the Department of Psychology. He taught courses in Neuropsychology, Brain and Behavior, Learning Disabilities, among others.
A funeral service will be held at 2 pm on Saturday, March 4, at St. Andrew’s Episcopal Church, Burke, VA, with a viewing beginning at 12:15 pm. For those who wish to honor Dr. Fedio with a memorial contribution, his family suggests a donation to either Brain Injury Services of Springfield, VA, or the Serhiy Prytula Charitable Foundation, supporting humanitarian efforts in Ukraine.
