I am interested in developmental psychopathology and positive adaptation in children and adolescents, and the ways in which family relationships influence trajectories of adjustment across development. My recent research has focused on two areas. (1) Interventions for parents and families, including a parenting intervention grounded in emotion coaching and mindfulness and aimed at improving emotion regulation in adolescents, and an intervention aimed at building mindful family relationships; (2) Research with suicidal adolescents, in which my research team seeks to identify family relational factors and adolescent emotion regulation styles that influence ongoing suicide risk.
